Senior
Corps
Senior Corps Senior Corps is a network of programs that taps the experience,
skills, and talents of older citizens to meet community challenges. Through
its three programs—Foster Grandparents, Senior Companions, and
RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program)—more than half a million "Senior" Americans,
ages 55 and over, assist local nonprofits, public agencies, and faith-based
organizations in carrying out their missions. The Corporation of National
and Community Service administers and oversees Senior Corps, USA Freedom
Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America. Together these programs
engage more than 23 million Americans of all ages and backgrounds in
volunteer service each year. Each volunteer is a pot of gold to be found
toward the end of his or her own rainbow of life.
